Mediation

iii

Richard Seligman has expanded his successful litigation practice to include mediation services. Mediation is a cost effective way to resolve disputes and avoid delay of litigation in court. A mediator acts as a third party neutral who facilitates the resolution of disputes between two opposing parties. A mediator does not resolve the dispute as would a judge or an arbitrator; rather he/she helps the parties to reach a voluntary resolution of their dispute on their own terms. Mr. Seligman will serve as a mediator when both parties and their respective attorneys agree to hire him as a neutral. He can be hired privately as a mediator or assigned by the Circuit Court through its Alternative Dispute Resolution Division. He has actively participated as a litigator in numerous successful mediations for over 25 years and he is now certified, after 40 hours of specialized training, pursuant to Maryland Rule 106 to serve as a mediator/facilitator for the Circuit Courts of Maryland.
